About Us

The Utah Dream Center was founded in 2000 by Alfred and Anna Murillo. Though the physical doors to the Dream Center weren’t opened until 2002, the foundation was laid much earlier. Modeling much of the Utah Dream Center’s operations and strategies off of the LA Dream Center, www.dreamcenter.org, Alfred and Anna first operated a sidewalk children’s ministry by buying and renovating a large truck with a fold-down platform. Alfred is also a ten year board member of the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Metro Gang Project.

The Dream Center makes a difference

 Provisions:

The first and most basic need the Dream Center meets is food.

 Medicine:

In 2007 the Dream Center partnered with Utah Partners for Health in providing a 31-foot Mobile Medical Unit.

 D.C. in Action:

Providing the children with a promising future is one the Dream Center’s key goals.

 Life Necessities:

The Dream Center collects and distributes donated essentials to families in their community.

 Adopt-A-Block:

Through Adopt-A-Block, the Center literally “cleans up the neighborhood” by picking up trash, cleaning graffiti, and serving in similar ways.

 Metro Kidzz:

Metro Kidzz teaches honest communication, morals and social skills, personal responsibility, the skills to make right decisions and helps to give and receive unconditional love.

 Metro Gang
 Project:

The Dream Center assisted in designing and implementing a gang intervention program designed for “at-risk” youth.
